September 2006 Packages

I am starting with two letters we have recently received in the mail from our new contact, Captain Christoper Krahulec...

Remember that none of this would be possible without your continuing support and generosity.

Dear Ms Struck,                                                           06, Oct 06

Words cannot express the gratitude the Marines of Fox Company have for your generosity.  Yesterday, we received the first two boxes of goodies you sent and thought wow, this lady is something special.  However, we were not sure if we had the correct address to properly thank you.  The address on the packages appeared to be from a package store.  Then today we were floored to receive 2 more boxes of goodies from you.  As we were sorting the magazines, I noticed your name on one of the magazines which was different from the one we sent a note to today.  Hopefully, this note finds you and does not get returned to us.  You are truly the spirit of American generosity and pride.  You support for our Marines is far above anything that could have been expected.  When I signed up on Any Solider, I was expecting small care packages with the basic supplies to hand out to the Marines.  Your thoughtfulness and unselfish giving have touched not only my heart but the heart of all the Marines here at Firm Base Barawanah.  It was like a touch of America was received in this distant country amongst foreigners. I only hope you know how much we appreciate your thoughts, prayers and deeds.

If you send out any more packages, please enclose a small note with your address so I can be sure you receive this and future notes.  As a token of my thanks for your generosity, I have enclosed one of my captains bars that are straight off my uniform.  I wish I could send you something nicer but this is the best I can do, as there are no stores with flowers or fancy cards/gifts to send you.  The wear and tear shows the constant hardship our young Marines go through every day.  They accept their mission and the associated risk with a smile and a nod.  Thank you again for your support and look forward to hearing back from you.  May God bless your life and your families for the generosity and support you have for complete strangers.

Ms Struck,                                                                              05, Oct 06

I hope this letter finds you, not sure if this address is your address or the package store you sent them from.  I am hoping it is the first option.

The Marines were ecstatic to receive your packages and everything was handed out within 2 minutes.  I ensured that those that have not received anything got first choice.  We would like to send you a heartfelt thanks for your time and gratitude.  It is a great sense of pride for us to receive and know that people like you are still supporting us and care about those a half a world away.  It is with great pride that we serve and protect our country to defend from the terrorists that would bring harm to Americans.  You too are helping our cause by bringing a touch of the U.S. to our little slice of the desert.  Thank you for your patriotism and support.  We look forward to hearing back from you, even if it is just a note.  God bless you for your support and may he bless your life for the sacrifice you make to complete strangers.

Sincerely,
Christopher Krahulec
Capt, USMC

PS  Sorry for the Sox poor year, hopefully the Patriots will make up for it.

For our September packages, we found two marines on the website anysolider.com.  The two marines, Capt Christopher Krahulec and Capt Cole Dillon are stationed in different areas of Iraq and requested different items.  We sent them 17 large boxes full of what they requested - toiletries, DVDs, video games, socks, gum, magazines, candy and microwavable meals.  We spent a total of $1,600 this month and $500 of it was on shipping (shipping heavy items like toiletries can be expensive, but it is what they requested so we had to send it.)

Packages ready to go to Chris and Cole.
