The 4th Annual Rhody's Run for the Troops was a huge success. Thank you to all of our volunteers, sponsors, military personnel and participants for making it such a wonderful day last Sunday, October 12th.

We want to share one email with you because we were so proud to receive it.  It epitomizes how we hope everyone feels when they attend the Rhody's Run for the Troops.

Kristin,

I spent this past weekend in Narragansett with my wife. It was a first for us. We enjoy checking out new places, needed to get away from our busy lives in Burlington, Vermont, so we grabbed a room at the Anchor Motel. I always look for a local paper when I visit new places. I like to know what the locals are doing, where they hang out. I found your Run for the Troops race in the Narragansett Times. I am a fair runner, have run tons of races, yours was one of the best. it was more than that though; We were out of towners, perhaps the only ones who didn't know anyone else, yet those we conversed with treated like us we were one of their own. My wife bought raffle tickets and grabbed some of the many treats available as she waited for me to finish and cool down etc. I had great, brief conversations as I crested the final hill, congratulating those who kept a steady pace with me up that difficult incline. We hung out for quite awhile afterwards, ate too much
pizza and too many hot dogs and had a few beers. (Nothing like a beer before noon. I usually only do that at our local Turkey Trot when I return to Buffalo, NY for Thanksgiving.) We even watched a few of the kids races. We didn't win any of the prizes, but we really didn't care. The point is you did a great job for a great cause, and you are part of a great community. I appreciate you and all of Bonnet Shores taking us in for the day and making us feel at home. Our plan is to come again next year.
