December 2009
Holiday Packages
In early December,
our usual group of dedicated volunteers met on a
Saturday morning and spent the day packing up
over 80 packages filled with holiday cheer, well
wishes and support for our hard working troops.
It was another fantastic day. We sent
packages to five groups in Afghanistan and Iraq.
We received over 4.000 letters from you, our
supporters. This was more than three times what
we have received in the past. Thank you!!
It was really incredible to watch hundreds of
letters arrive in the days leading up to
Saturday. Special thanks to these
schools who sent fantastic letters.

(Please email
kris@packitup.org if your school, church or
group sent letters. We received so many
that I am sure this list is not complete.
Please email me and we will add you right away
to this list.)
The 4,000 letters
were used to stuff 525 stockings. The
stockings are meant to be opened on Christmas
Eve or Christmas day. They were filled with all
sorts of candy and gum, little treats and then
most importantly the letters. They were
sealed with a note of thanks from Pack It Up. We
were able to stuff each stocking with 7-8
letters!

In addition to
the stockings, lots of boxes were packed full of
loads of toiletries, basketballs, t shirts,
footballs, coffee, hundreds of DVDs and portable
DVD players, books, magazines, baby wipes,
portable electronic games and candy.
We received quite a few items that were
pre-packaged. Supporters had taken it upon
themselves to create little gift bags with notes
in them, full of miscellaneous fun items.
These were marked specifically for a male or
female soldier. Those items were sent in
tact for someone to enjoy.
