This website is dedicated to the memory CPL Brian M Kennedy, USMC.

8/22/05 - August packages went out Saturday.  We went the 'snack route' (and we finally went to BJs so everything we sent was a jumbo pack) and sent the following:  sunflower seeds, Swedish fish, beef jerky, Oreos, Pringles, Fig Newton, Chex Mix, Nutty Bars, Devil Dogs, Twinkies, Coffee Cakes, Yodels, Little Bites, Ring Dings, Rice Krispie Treats, Fudge Brownie, Smarties, lollipops, Doritos, Pop Tarts, Wise Chips, Oatmeal Cream Pies.

We also sent Chap Stick, gum, a bunch of Red Sox and Patriots t-shirts and hats, and socks.  Of course, we had our usual supply of magazines, so thanks everyone!  I only had to buy a few.

We sent out a package 'just for Laurie' also. It contained her own stash of Oreos (not to be shared!), a pink Patriots hat and a blue Sox hat.  Also a short sleeved shirt that I thought she could send back to her daughter.  It was camouflage with a pink butterfly on it.  Very cute.

We received another $285 in donations so we're up to $7,200 in total donations.  Unbelievable!

The race sign ups are going well.   Pass the word on the race.  We hear there will be close to 100 soldiers running, so that's great.

8/30/05 - Laurie received our packages  3 out of 4 so far.

Hi Kristin,

Well we were three for three in the last three days. I received one box a day for three days straight and it was BIG fun opening them. One of my mail clerks and I enjoyed laying out the goodies like we worked in the local convenience store. He told me it was "all about presentation." The snacks were a big hit and I can safely say that the majority of them have already been eaten and enjoyed (except for the private stash we saved for our office). The ring dings and the yodels were a bit melted, but still edible. WOW....I never knew so many people liked Twinkies!

You asked if there was anything we needed for the September box....I can't think of anything right now, but if I think of anything specific I will let you know.

Thanks again, from the soldiers of the 1-126th Aviation!
:)
Laurie
