From our troops...
In response to our March
packages, here is what our soldiers had to say:
From 1LT Christopher
Manion
Kristin,
On behalf of Apache Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th
US Cavalry Regiment, I want to thank you for
what your organization has done for the soldiers
of my company. We have had numerous
organizations send us individual boxes and care
packages for soldiers including The Salvation
Army, Anysoldier.com, and Soldier's Angels. I am
certainly not downplaying what anyone does for
our troops deployed here and around the world,
but your organization has certainly been the
best. Every time I receive your packages to
distribute to the soldiers of Apache Company, I
hear from the soldiers long before I make my way
to the company to retrieve my mail. They know
what the big boxes from Kristin Struck at
Packitup.org contain.
Once again, thank you for your support

Hi,
Received a package this week and thank you
again. As always much appreciated. I also
believe there was a few packages that came in
while I was out on leave.

Thanks for replying. I am attaching a
picture of me now and of everyone else later.
Now, about the amount of people we have… I work
w/ 4 directly, but our mission out here is split
in 2 operations. We have 6 Marines total and
roughly 20 civilians working together out here.
The civilians are just as big of an asset as the
Marines. They take care of a lot of the busy
work while we focus on the direct mission.
Yes we did receive that package! It was amazing
and got divided up very well. I personally got
to keep the blanket and the soccer ball (which
was kind of shocking because I’ve played soccer
my whole life and debated bringing my own ball
out here!) Everyone loved those packages… and
everything has since disappeared! Thank you so
much.

April 2007 Packages
We have a new contact - Matt Offiler. We
hope to have more information about Matt soon.
We sent him three packages this week.
We sent out a total of 18 packages to
our seven contacts.
Sgt Lucas Dresser
sent a special request - for IPods and CDs.
He said they are extremely hard to come by and
can really help. We sent over 4 IPod Nanos,
4 hard shell plastic cases, one adapter and 14
Cds. This alone was $950 but we thought it
was well worth the money.
We also sent packages to
Pete, Chris, Matt, Daniel, Chris and Rrea.
We sent over our usual assortment of great
snacks, candy and gum along with baby wipes,
razors, deodorant, toothpaste, soap, Q tips,
shaving cream, granola bars, handheld games and
coffee. This month was an expensive one -
coming in at just over $2,000 (before shipping
costs which usually are at least $400-$500).
