January/February
2008
The January packages sent were chock full of
Patriots gear. This was before the
Superbowl of course! We were hoping the guys did
not take too much grief for all the gear we
sent.
We have updates on our contacts and emails
below. Enjoy!
1LT Matt Offiler
is now due home in mid-April. This will be
the end of his 15 month tour. We sent Matt
and his group their last set of packages last
week. For those of you who will attend our
Rhody's Run for the Troops on Sunday, October
12th , Matt will be our official Race Starter.
Matt's email:
We have about 50 days left before we fly out
of Baghdad.. its will have been a long 15
months. I cant say Thank You enough for the
support you have given me and my soldiers,
through the whole deployment and two different
units. That's a lot of soldiers saying Thank
You. Things are still going well here.. the
occasional bit of trouble will pick up every so
often, but nothing like it was when we first
arrived, its like an entirely different place
over here.
I did get the Patriots gear, Thank you. I had
two shirts just hanging up on my walls in place
of posters and I think Im just starting to hear
the end of the remarks about the Patriots. There
were only 2 Pats fans in my unit here, one
soldier form Maine and myself.. so the cheering
at the game was a little lopsided. Its all good
though, the Sox won and the rest of the Pats
season was perfect, so I cant complain too much.
Well, time to get to work. Thank you for all
your support these last long 15 months!

1LT Kevin Mills,
who was previously stationed with Matt Offiler,
will be returning home in the next few weeks.
Kristin,
The weather's staying cool, so no complaints
about the rain. We all did watch the Superbowl.
I think everyone was stunned more than anything,
whoever someone was supporting. I did get all
the Patriots gear. Thank you.
Thank you, in advance, for the packages. They're
always appreciated, and we can pass out all the
food and treats very quickly.
Hope all is well. Take care.

LTjg Bill Feaster,
is now past the half way point in his
deployment. He has 114 days to go before
returning home.
Hello Kristin!
Things have been busy! I have been all over the
place, but your packages have made a world of
difference!! Even though I wasn't here I had a
buddy of mine receive the packages and pass them
out to everyone. Pats gear was a big hit (we're
all from new england). Right now, we are over
the mid way hump- only 114 days to go! At this
point, we don't need anything specific, everyone
is trading around the DVDs you sent (big hit
again!)
We all really appreciate your help, you all make
life better over here,
GO SOX,
Bill
LCRG Geoff Gorman
wrote us back in mid January after he had
returned from his leave. He is due to return
home mid April.

Just one quick note to than you for th egreat
suff you sent all the folks during the holidays.
I made it back to South Kinsgotwn and
swquestered myself to the couch and hugging my
girls daily - I mean hourly.
I hope your holidays were equally joyous and
look forward to coming home in the next 90 days
or so. I hope when I can back I can return
the favor and help you out.
